FALL RIVER: a Lizzie Borden musical

THE ALLEY is proud to be the first to present a new music by Rick Vale and directed by him. The 1892 murders of Andrew and Abby Borden in Fall River, Massachusetts…and the trial of Lizzie Borden which followed…held the nation in thrall. It was a sensation of “firsts” for the United States and the world: a well-bred young woman accused, women reporters offered a chance to report on the case, and women allowed in the courtroom as observers for the first time. It tested the bounds of American print news and “fake news” – and all the characters involved were, and are, as colorful as if written for the theatre itself. This dark, entertaining, musical will be presented in THE ANDERSON MUSEUM OF ART. This is a part of our 5-Show Season.
