TWO ONE-ACT PLAYS
THE MONKEY'S PAW
by W. W. Jacobs
THE ACTOR'S NIGHTMARE
by Christopher Durang
In another “first” for THE ALLEY, Sharon Stafford directs two one-act plays, one of terror and one of hilarity. The classic story “THE MONKEY’S PAW”, by W.W. Jacob, is adapted for the stage and presents the story of a couple given a literal, dried, monkey’s paw. It grants three wishes, but not without hellish consequences (for dabbling with fate.). In “THE ACTOR’S NIGHTMARE” the playwright Christopher Durang presents on stage what almost every actor has faced: a dream where they are performing a show they haven’t rehearsed. The protagonist finds himself backstage where he is apparently the understudy for the lead. Join us for a night of two plays for the price of one!
